I realise my last ‘job’ related post was in September 2024, just after I’d left the University of Lincoln and was uncertain about what was next.
Well I was incredibly fortunate in October 2024 to secure a role as Director of Research Impact and Culture (Associate Professor) at Northeastern University London.
NUL has a fairly unique footprint, operating both as part of the Northeastern (Boston, US) global network, and a UK university in its own right. It’s one of the newest universities in the UK, with a range of undergraduate, Masters and PhD programmes. There’s a fantastic and growing range of research, spanning humanities (echoing NUL’s origins as a the New College of the Humanities), social sciences, computing, mathematics, engineering, and natural sciences.
NUL is also a member of Guild HE, the group representing small and specialist UK Higher Education institutions.
Joyously (for me!) the NUL role allows me to combine my impact nerdiness, ongoing research activities, consultancy, and appetite to help build healthier research cultures.
